Within directives of Eng./ Tarek El-Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, to support community participation in various governorates in accordance with objectives of community development strategy for Petroleum Sector, as per to EGAS assignments, and in coordination with Eni International, the main partner in GASTEC;
GASTEC and El Sewedy Electric Company concluded a cooperation agreement in technical education and vocational training sector on third day of the sixth session of Egypt International Petroleum Conference and Exhibition "EGYPS 2023", which was held from 12-15 February 2023 at El-Manara Conference Center under auspices of President of the Republic.
The agreement was signed on behalf of GASTEC by Eng./ Abdel Fattah Farahat, Chairman and Managing Director, and Ms./ Hanan El-Rehani, Secretary General of El Sewedy Electric, in presence of Dr./ Magdy Galal, Executive Managing Director of Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS).
The signing was also attended by Ms./ Shahenda Shirazi, General Manager of Social Responsibility at EGAS, Mr./ Paolo Rondini, Managing Director of GASTEC and representative of Eni, Mr./ Lionelli Fani, Director of Social Responsibility at IEOC, and Mr./ Mahmoud Abu Al-Yazid, Deputy General Manager and Director of External Relations at IEOC. Also, Top management at GASTEC, El Sewedy Foundation, and community contribution officials at Petroil Company.
The concluded cooperation agreement aims to develop and implement a new study program in vehicles conversion field to work with CNG and maintain CNG compressors at Zohr School of Applied Technology in Port Said, through development of a 3-year curriculum approved by Ministry of Technical Education and in line with international standards.
In addition, the fruitful cooperation between GASTEC and El Sewedy Corporation aims to develop and implement short-term training programs for training on vehicles conversion to run by CNG. As per to this agreement, GASTEC will establish and equip a conversion center at Zohr School of Applied Technology in Port Said as a community contribution from the Company for training on vehicles conversion to work with CNG and enhancing skills of students and trainees in such field.
