In light of directives of His Excellency President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to commence in implementing national project to expand establishment and operation of vehicles fueling stations with CNG to cover all governorates of the Republic, in line with initiative to vehicles conversion to work with CNG. In pursuance of efforts of Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to strengthen network of CNG fueling stations and improving quality of services provided to the public in various governorates nationwide.

In this regard, Major General/ Abdel Hamid El-Hagan, Governor of Qalyubia, has witnessed the signing ceremony of joint cooperation protocol with GASTEC - to establish a new integrated station for fueling and converting vehicles to work with CNG and liquid fuel and associated services, in parking complex in Benha on an area of 2400 square meters. In addition to discussing establishment of CNG fueling stations in the rest of cities and governorate neighborhoods, as well as highways.
Governor of Qalyubia expressed his pleasure on joint cooperation with GASTEC, adding that this agreement comes within the framework of keeping pace with Qalyubia Governorate for expansion of CNG uses as an alternative fuel instead of gasoline and diesel, contributing to implementing the state’s plans to preserve environment, rationalize energy, achieve optimal economic benefit of Egypt’s natural resources, and provision of foreign currency as a result of reducing import of liquid fuel products, in addition to its low price, affording with of citizen’s possibilities.
For his part, Eng./ Abdel-Fattah Farahat, Chairman and Managing Director of GASTEC, explained that the signing of cooperation protocol comes within the framework of continuous directives of Eng./ Tarek El-Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, to strengthen CNG fueling network stations in various governorates nationwide. The fruitful cooperation with Qalyubia governorate, in this regard, will allow provision of CNG fueling facilities within governorate, as well as strengthening efforts to preserve environment within the governorate.

The signing of the protocol came between Eng./ Abdel Fattah Farahat, Chairman and Managing Director, and Major General/ Hisham Khashabeh, General Secretary of governorate, and under the auspices of Major General / Abdel Hamid Al-Hagan, Governor of Qalyubia, and in the presence of: Acc./ Mohamed Al-Tarabily, Chairman Assisstant of Marketing at GASTEC, Acc./ Mohamed Marei, President of Benha City, Mr./ Shaker Emara, Legal Affairs General Manager, Mr./ Mohamed Abdel Halim, Director of Car Parking Project, and Dr./ Mohamed Fawzy, Director of Technical Office.
