Within the framework of the Ministry of Petroleum’s strategy to expand the deployment of CNG fueling service in the Upper Egypt region, GASTEC has opened and operated a new CNG refueling station in Beni Suef, which is the company’s second station in the governorate. The new station operates with a gas compressor capacity of 900 m3/h. Equipped with 6 charging points.
Eng./ Abdel Fattah Farhat, Chairman and managing director, stated that the establishment of the Beni Suef station comes within the framework of the plan of GASTEC Company, which started implementing several years ago to expand the provision of CNG supply service and contribute to developing projects in Upper Egypt governorates, where the company had the lead and leadership in implementing Such service projects for citizens, so the company established the first gas supply station in Beni Suef in 2000, followed by the opening and operation of two stations in Fayoum Governorate, then other stations in Minya, Sohag and Aswan. In Qena, a station is also being constructed in Luxor .
Beni Suef station is the second station of the company that uses advanced CNG supply technologies, where gas facilities such as compressors, gas tanks and their accessories have been placed in a loft above the supply canopy, which allows large areas in the stations that can be used in various activities to serve customers, which will contribute to the development of the infrastructure To facilitate gas supply and support the spread of CNG supply stations. Gastec was the first to use this technology in Egypt and the Middle East at the company's station in Port Said.
With the operation of the Beni Suef station, the number of the company's CNG supply stations reaches 94 stations spread in 22 governorates, which is the highest geographical spread of gas service and supply stations among all companies operating in the field of vehicle/gas in Egypt.
Farhat pointed out that to cover the requirements of customers wishing to convert their cars to run on CNG, GASTEC provides facilities to customers in paying the value of the conversion through various conversion systems, and in this regard, the company has contracted with Fawry to allow post-sale customers who have converted their cars to work with fuel. The bilateral (CNG - gasoline) in the company's various centers pay the installments due to the company through the outlets of Fawry company spread countrywide, at the lowest cost and with the aim of mitigating and facilitating the company's customers in paying their monthly dues and obligations.
According to this system, the customer can go to any FAWRY center, and through GASTEC code number (580), the customer's car transfer, invoice number, the transfer premium is paid.
It is worth noting that GASTEC has achieved outstanding performance rates compared to its business results during 2019, which was evident in its strengthening of the network of CNG supply stations through the establishment of (3) new catering stations: a station in Qena city, and a station in Hurghada, in addition to implementing Establishing the first integrated fuel refueling station in Port Said, with CNG, liquid fuels, electric charging and various services, and it is powered by solar energy.
During 2019, GASTEC managed to achieve a boom in stations gas sales, which amounted to 271.5 million meters, at a rate of 50% of the total market, which is the highest sales rate among all operating companies, which led to an increase in the company's total gas sales since the beginning of its activity to 3.5 billion cubic meters.
Efforts to develop various business activities have resulted in the company achieving an unprecedented increase in its net profits, which amounted to L.E 64.2 million for the year 2019, an increase of 355% compared to last year, and an increase in activity revenues from L.E 866.8 million in 2018 to L.E 1381 million in 2019. An increase of 60%, in addition to an increase in the company's net fixed assets value from L.E 701.3 million in 2018 to L.E1183.9 million in 2019, an increase of 70%.
